Society

Kashmir valley is one of the most beautiful places on earth. But Kashmir valley is a victim of cross border terrorism. Pakistan every time tries to destroy the peace of the valley. Either by terrorism or by supplying drugs. To fund terrorist activities Pakistan is now supplying drugs in the valley and destroying future of the Youths.

According to Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, the drugs which are being pumped into Jammu and Kashmir, mainly comes from Pakistan to finance terror activities. Police is working tirelessly to block the supply chain and save the valley from the grip of drugs. The money generated from drugs smuggling is mainly used to finance extremism and terrorism in Kashmir. Police had seized a huge quantity of narcotic drugs this year. Previously, police had arrested terror outfits from Kashmir and had seized 21 kg of high-quality heroin with hard cash of Rs1.34 crore. Arrested peoples were terror operatives and they were in contact with Pakistan based terrorist groups to assist their activities in Kashmir. A special investigation team was made to interrogate the arrested persons and trace their contacts in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.

The army is also spreading awareness about the ill effects of drugs to save the young population. To help people come out from the grip of substance abuse, army runs a deaddiction center in Baramulla. It’s shocking to know that even 10-year-old children is also addicted in drugs. Several school going children are addicted in narcotics, sleeping pills, shoe polish and balms. Not only that but some are also addicted in snake bite. They pay an amount of Rs. 4000/- for a single bite of snake. From March 2020, lockdown started in the nation. People were mostly staying inside the house. Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) 1 will take the same name of INS Vikrant, after it gets commissioned next year. Indian Navy is pushing for another aircraft career which I think is justified because China is expected to have minimum five aircraft carriers by the end of this decade. According to navy it is an “operational necessity” of having a third aircraft carrier. To defend and to protect vast Indian ocean region, a strong air power is necessary. It will be named INS Vishal. But according to the CDS General Bipin Rawat, aircraft carriers can be high-value targets for enemies. He wants to develop the islands of Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar as “unsinkable” aircraft carriers.

One couple is under treatment in Srinagar GMC, used to take drugs through intravenous route. The husband is 29 and wife is 28-year-old only. Hepatitis-C is a common infection among drug abusers. One 10-year-old boy was taking Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) is infected by Hepatitis-C. If neglected it can lead to liver cirrhosis. Several youths fall in the trap and like this destroy their lives.

All the people of India should become aware about the bad effects of drugs. By raising awareness and breaking the supply chain, we can save people of Kashmir.
